Who is Steve Jennings?

About Steve

Born and raised in the vibrant city of St. George, Steve Jennings is a true native, with roots that extend back to the earliest founders of the St. George Valley. The youngest of five siblings, Steve grew up immersed in the close-knit community and cherishes the deep sense of heritage that comes with being a fifth-generation St. George native.

Steve's educational journey took him through local institutions, from East Elementary to Dixie High School, and on to Dixie State College and Southern Utah University. His faith led him to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern Mexico, where he became fluent in Spanish.

Married for 18 years and the proud father of five children, four daughters, and one son, Steve values family above all else. He finds joy in spending quality time with his loved ones and sharing his passion for the outdoors. Whether it's hunting, fishing, horseback riding, boating, wakeboarding, or exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Pine Valley or Lake Powell, Steve embraces all that Southern Utah has to offer.

Steve's commitment to his community goes beyond his personal life. As the co-founder and president of JMI Property Services and JMI Constructors, he has played a pivotal role in mentoring and developing many employees. With extensive experience in construction, real estate development, and management, Steve possesses a deep understanding of the issues the city council faces. His regular interactions with local, state, and federal representatives and organizations have given him invaluable insight into the complexities of growth and economic development.

Passionate about cultivating a diversified job market and increasing wages at the local level, Steve embodies the "Dixie Spirit" and proudly carries the red sands of Utah's Dixie in his shoes. His love for the community, dedication to service, and unwavering commitment to economic development make him an ideal candidate for St. George City Council.
